1aftermarket and into the trash...  Nov 21, 2009
I bought two and mastered putting the thing on the screen with the first one. After I got the second one on properly, it took away some of the brightness and clarity of the reading experience. I threw both of them away.

1Horrible screen protector  Nov 10, 2009
Applying this screen protector is PAINFUL and impossible. Bubbles galore. The adhesive backing picks up lint. Once applied, the lint is impossible to remove. The bubbles are impossible to remove. Regardless of the cost, do not buy this thing.

1Don't even bother....  Nov 09, 2009
This is A TOTAL WASTE!! It comes in a pack with the most ambiguous instructions (3 lines) - You can't even figure out which is the adhesive side because there are TWO sheets to remove and no sheet says "removing me exposes the adhesive side" I had to literally touch a small spec to find out! Well that's fine. Now it was FOLDED from the middle when it arrived, I still opened it to "experiment" and here are the results:

1. EXTREMELY difficult to apply - if you have the dexterity of a watch maker you'll be able to hold it up with 3 fingers on the edges without breathing (else it will attract lint) - there are NO cards or anything to aid you with this - just your hands
2. The Kindle screen has rounded corners, this sheet of plastic has SHARP corners, so it's slightly difficult to "set it right" - dexterity required!
3. The very first millimeter of it sticks and air bubbles start creeping in. I used a credit card to press it, hold the actual 'rims' with the other hand but bubble would ALWAYS creep in.
4. This thing shines like GLASS - Even in the absence of much light I can see myself in the screen like a reflection (You don't see such a spectacular reflection on the naked kindle screen). It shimmers so brightly that it actually makes your reading experience AWFUL - I took it off after an hour of playing and bubble removing etc.,

The GOOD thing: It comes with this unnecessary small towel about 1.5"x2.5" in size. So I threw the screen protector and kept the towel to keep my kindle clean - just put it "behind" the kindle in the amazon cover (or in the Medge's pocket). The cover's material prevents the towel from falling :-) So if you want to order this for the screen protector my advice DON'T BOTHER!!! You could order for that small towel :) but not worth the price

2Too big  Nov 02, 2009
Protectors like this are always a pain to put on, but I was very pleased with the thickness of the product when I took it out of the package. It is not flimsy at all. However, when I put it on the screen, it is just slightly larger than the screen, so impossible to get to lie flat and remove all the air from under it. There was no way I could use this. There may be some inconsistency when they are cut, I don't know, but after having to take it up a few times and try to position it so it would lie flat, I ended up having to throw it away. If I could get it with cheaper shipping I might try again, but I am afraid to throw more money away.

2Difficult Application... Any Kind of Dusts will equal Bubbles  Oct 29, 2009
Makes sense to purchase a screen guard for my new Kindle. After receiving the product, I read the easy three step instructions and performed the task. What the instructions don't say is this should be applied in a very dust free area. Any drifting particles that comes in contact with the adhesive side will form a bubble about 5 mm diameter. Also, the guard isn't squared I had to trim a corner off in order to let it lay flat. It turned the pristine Kindle screen into a crappy one. I applied and reapplied it to get rid of every bubble but it just picks up more dust and gets worst. I can't recommend this product but it does the job of protecting the screen. I finally decide to do without it. It was too much of a distraction plus it added glare to the screen. I will be looking at the screen for hours at all the imperfections and blisters. A waste of money.
